Starlight Bouquet Quilt

Hi there and here I am with yet another quilt....this time it's my (finally finished) Starlight Bouquet Quilt. This is absolutely my favourite quilt so far as it's fully hand pieced and took me like forever to finish.

I am so delighted to have made this quilt as it has a special "vintage" feel to it.

I started this quilt back in March last year and bought this EPP quilt kit from Sew and Quilt online shop.

The kit contained all the paper pieces and instructions to make this quilt.

My selected fabric came from my scrap basket and the background fabric is pure white to enhance the coloured stars.

This was my first EPP project ever and I just wanted to try paper piecing and see if I can actually do it and have patience with it. I generally don't sew anything by hand as I think is so slow. Well, that was correct in this case as this quilt took most of 2016 to finish. But I thoroughly enjoyed the whole process and pieced it slowly while watching evening television.

I quilted the quilt with straight lines going through all stars and I love how vintage-y it looks....and feels. The final touch was the yellow/white stripey bias binding which adds softness to the whole piece. I am so proud of myself to have made this lovely little quilt and I don't think I will ever part with it.

I am on lookout for another EPP quilt kit....so watch the space.

Thanks for reading and back soon.

Xx
