My 'February' Quilt

Hello again....

This is just a quick post to finally share my 'February' quilt which I finished last weekend. This quilt took some time to make (yes, whole of February) as I started new full-time work and obviously sewing took a second seat (booo).

So just to keep myself on my schedule, my sewing is now taking most of my evenings and weekends.

I wanted to make this quilt for such a long time and just as February was approaching I finally gave in. The pattern is Open Heart by Vanessa Goertzen by Lella Boutique.

I already has some pretty pink and red fat quarters in my stash, however, a quick fabric shop trip was still necessary. I decided on grey background just to be little bit different as I normally work with white backgrounds on my quilts

First few blocks are done. These are so easy and sooooo effective!

All 30 blocks are done. Not a great picture as I was pressed for time but still wanted to take a picture.

Looking great though.....

Late Saturday sewing....just to get it finished on time.

I chose Chipper by Tula Pink for my backing fabric. Works perfectly!! Plus 8 meters of bright red bias tape. Loving the combo.

Here we go. The quilt in finished.... quilted, bound, washed, ironed and dried. It measures 67 x 79 in, great size for double bed.

This quilt was total joy to make. It was not made for anybody in mind....but as soon as it was finished, it was claimed by my 9-year old daughter. Oh well....quilts are made to be used....and loved.

Back soon with more quilting happiness.....
