"Christmas Hexies" Pillow
Hi everyone and welcome back....
This week it was all about hexies. I have not been able to sew for the whole week so just to satisfy my restless mind and hands, I had to settle for some kind of EPP project (while sitting on a sofa!!).
Hence hexies!!
I have always liked hexies projects from Modern Handcraft (blog - www.modernhandcraft.com) and this was the perfect time to do it. I purchased some 1in hexies from local online shop and as I had some Christmas mini charm pack (Evergreen) in my stash, I thought that was it.
I needed 41 hexies to design the pillow top and I arranged them in rows of fives and fours.
The hexies are glued onto the top fabric with a fabric glue to keep them in place while quilting.
The final pillow is 18x18in square and closed by a zip.
I love how it turned out and I think is is a lovely and modern take on design using classic epp technique.
I have already started to make more hexies so there will definitely be more 'hexi' projects....
Back soon.
