Quilted Halloween Cushions

Hello there....

...and happy October!! Where did the time go?? Seriously....October already?

I personally like autumn and am quite happy to welcome October as it means Halloween sewing!!

This time I decided on Halloween cushions as I found this fab pattern by Everyday Celebrations. Absolutely gorgeous cushion pattern which can be turned into Christmas/Valentine cushions (watch the space for Christmas version).

The fabric I absolutely love and I purchased it from Plush Addict and Elephant in my Handbag online fabric shops. The lovely pretty bundle is Ghouls & Goodies by Riley Blake. It glows in the dark!! Sweet!!!

The cushion top is pretty simple to construct only requires one centre square and various scraps for the borders. Number 31 is appliqued on by fusible web.

I have outlined the number by a machine blanket stitch but you can use any preferred method like hand blanket stitch or straight top-stitch.

The back of a cushion has a zip closure and I attached bias binding to bound the two pieces together. I prefer to bias bind my cushions as it looks much more edgy and gives nice and clean look.

Overall, I absolutely loved making these cushion and I am chuffed with them. I love the fabric and as it glows in the dark, that makes it extra special. Christmas version coming up!!

Thanks for stopping by and see you soon.

Petra xx
