Baby Reggie cot quilt

Hello there again...
This week it was all about quilt for baby "Reggie".
About a month ago I was asked to make a baby quilt for baby boy in blue, mustard and gray colours. As the name was not known at that time, I simply designed it in my head and purchased fabric.
All fabric comes from Pretty Trims and Fabrics online shop and as I was searching through their website I absolutely fell in love with Cloud 9 Collection Little Cube Boys and I thought it would be perfect for this quilt.
I added my mustard fabric which is Bella Mustard Solid by Moda.

The baby was born last week (congratulations!!) and I was given a name to work with - baby Reggie....ahhh sweet!!
My design was simple enough.... there's nothing better than simple patchwork quilt!! I cut up all the fabric in 4in squares and designed it in rows alternating print and solid squares.

I chose simple applique technique to spell the name as it was nice, fast and easy. I needed the letters to stand out from the mustard background so I decided on bright royal blue solid fabric. I think it worked well and goes nicely together with the bias binding.
The quilting was super easy....straight line quilting through all the squares. I alternated between mustard and white thread; quilting with mustard thread through all mustard squares and with white thread through all the collored squares.

....adding a label.....

....and my baby quilt it ready and packed for a dispatched.

I really enjoyed this quilt and I am very happy to give it to baby Reggie. The finished quilt is 45in wide and 55in high. Perfect for a cot.
Happy snuggles baby Reggie.
