"Hello" Jumbo Cushion

Hello to you all

Yes, this time I really mean 'Hello' as I am sharing my latest gigantic cushion called HELLO....I truly am massively addicted to making these...yay!

This cushion really came along by accident as I was meaning to make small quilt using Zen Chic For You charm pack (which was sitting on my table for ages....).

In reality I should have had 2 extra charm packs to make a good size quilt but I rarely plan that far ahead. So with only one charm pack...what should I make?

Too small for a quilt, too large for a cushion...or is it??

At the end I ended up making 81 4-inch hourglass blocks with added white and I still didn't know what I'm going to do with it.

After some playing with blocks I decided on this design. Yes, it was going to be cushion....GIANT CUSHION.... and must admit I was quite pleased with it. A bit unusual and mad but somehow it worked.

My quilting was easy as I quilted straight lines in the ditch. As for the final size I decided to cut 2 inches off each side.

My next step were the appliqued letters Hello.

I used templates from the internet and traced my letters onto Bondaweb. I wanted my letters black so they really stand out of the coloured background.

I finished my cushion with back center zip and added little ribbon. I binded the whole cushion with deep purple bias binding. The final measurement was 29in. Big but nicely big.....

Thanks for reading...back soon.
