My Sparkly Tree Mini Quilt
Hi there
Yes, yes it's nearly Christmas (are you counting as well?) so this mini quilt is my last make before the big day.
I just wanted to make something very Christmassy and quick but with fairly great impact....
...so this is it.
I came across this tutorial by Amy Smart of Diary of A Quilter (http://www.diaryofaquilter.com/2014/11/patchwork-tree-quilt-block-tutorial.html) and I just thought that was it. It is very easy to make and to be honest, the tree blocks are quite addictive.
I chose variety of red/green/golden/cream print fabrics and made the trees as colourfull and possible. You can also notice the design and I tried to make the trees different shape, size and angle.
I think it worked......
Now what about quilting??
I was a bit stuck on this one....and tried to came up with simple but effective quilting design.
At the end I simply outlined each tree with simple straight line and the rest of the quilt is free-motion quilted with swirls.
To finish it off, I attached deep red plain bias binding and.... done!!
I absolutley love it and it proudly hangs in my living room.
