"Christmas is coming" Advent Calendar

Hi all

Today I am sharing with you my wall advent calendar which I made for my daughters.

I followed a pattern from Sew Sweet Violet's blog which is on sale in her Etsy shop. Such a amazing shop!

So here we go .... I had to adjust the final measurements as I wanted to have 25 pockets instead of 24, so I ended up with 5 rows of 5 pockets. I used five different fabric prints in red and white and sew them together in rows. To that I added white ribbon with white mini pompom trim. As for the numbers, I simply stamped them on with black ink and rubber letter stamps. Simple!

The pockets are simply sewn on linen fabric with wadding and background fabric. I did not quilt this "sandwich" as I wanted to keep it simple (as it's quite busy anyway). The "Christmas is coming" wording is machine embroidered.

To finish it all, I simply added green-white bias binding and....here it is.

I think it looks pretty good. Now let's all wait till December....
